Overview

Eadu is a remote mountain world in the Outer Rim, battered by constant rain and lightning storms[1]. Jagged rocky peaks rise out of the clouds, and the only sign of civilisation is an Imperial research complex with storm-lashed landing platforms[1].

The Empire put a top-secret laboratory here under the Tarkin Initiative, far from prying eyes[1]. Galen Erso and a team of Death Star scientists worked on turning kyber crystals into the weapon's power source[1]. The planet lies in the Bheriz sector[1].

Role in the galaxy

Eadu matters because of who works there. Galen Erso is one of the scientists in the hidden complex, and the Rogue One crew come to the planet to find him[1]. From Eadu the crew then flies on to Scarif, where the next stage of their mission waits[2].
