Overview
Cantonica is a forlorn, beige desert planet in the Corporate Sector of the Outer Rim[1][3]. Most of it is dry and empty, but one stretch of the coast is anything but: Canto Bight, a casino city that sits beside an artificial sea[2][3].
Wealthy visitors come to the city to gamble, to watch fathier races and to stay in luxury hotels[1][2]. The galaxy map places the planet in grid square S-4[3].
Who lives here
Role in the galaxy
Cantonica matters for one detour. In The Last Jedi, Finn and Rose go to Canto Bight to find a master codebreaker, and their trip brings them into contact with the track's stablehand children and its racing fathiers[2][4]. The city's casinos and racetrack are what set it apart from the desert around it[1].
