Overview
Slave I is a Firespray-class patrol and attack craft built by Kuat Systems Engineering and flown by Jango Fett and later Boba Fett[1][4]. It is a bounty hunter's ship, armed like a warship and fitted with secure space for prisoners[4].
The ship flies rotated 90 degrees from the way it sits on the ground, so the cockpit points forward in flight[4]. It is about 21.5 metres long and almost as wide across its wings, and on the ground it stands about 7.8 metres tall without its guns[5].
Its weapons include blaster cannons, concussion missiles, an ion cannon, a tractor beam and seismic charges[4]. Slave I appears in Attack of the Clones, The Empire Strikes Back, The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett[1].

How it flies and fights
Slave I is a heavily armed ship. Two Borstel GN-40 twin blaster cannons and two Dymek HM-8 concussion missile launchers do the main damage, an ion cannon disables targets, and two Arakyd proton torpedo launchers handle the heaviest jobs[4]. A Phylon tractor beam projector and a supply of seismic charges complete the kit[4].
One pilot is enough to fly it. Jango's version adds expanded crew quarters and more secure compartments for prisoners, and Boba's refit adds bunks for up to six captives and a stolen device that jams sensors and hides the ship[4].

Variants
Jango Fett's Slave I
Jango's original: a Firespray he modifies with extra weapons, larger crew quarters and more secure compartments for prisoners. It is the ship seen on Kamino and Geonosis[4].
Boba Fett's refit
Boba adds a stolen cloaking and sensor-jamming device, bunks for six captives and extra weapons. This is the version seen in The Empire Strikes Back and The Book of Boba Fett[4].
Behind the scenes
- Nilo Rodis-Jamero drew the first Slave I after seeing Joe Johnston's Boba Fett concepts. His first version was round, and George Lucas preferred an elliptical shape[4].
- The ship is often said to resemble a street lamp outside the ILM building, but Rodis-Jamero said his true inspiration was a radar dish[2].
- In The Empire Strikes Back the ship is a 69 cm (27 in) model combined with matte paintings, and it is filmed rotated 90 degrees so the cockpit faces forward[4].
